Letters : Venice, to Antonio Piovene, Vicenza, 1805-1846.

Letters mostly concern Diedo's designs and architectural work on churches throughout the Veneto, such as the churches of San Geminiano and San Bonifazio. There is lengthy and detailed discussion about Diedo's collaboration with Piovene on the design and construction of the stairs leading up to the cathedral at Schio. Diedo also mentions his joint effort with Selva to modify the designs for the cathedral at Cologne. Other letters relate directly to the restoration of Piovene's house (designed by Palladio) at Vicenza. There is some discussion of Palladio's intentions and similar discussion regarding Vitruvius. The letters contain information on other mutual acquaintances, such as Cicognara, Pinali, Fontana (Diedo's teacher), and Calderari (who is frequently praised by Diedo for the harmony of his architectural style which is illuminated in his writings).
